Weekend Ameland

8-9 t/m 9-9

The weather would be nice to us, so why not go out for the weekend? Since my father has a nice little caravan on the island Ameland, no hassle Lighthouse AmelandHorsebackridingabout can we still go or not :) The island belongs to one of the "Wadden Eilanden" in the north of the country and is a pretty nice one. You can do a lot around here, like walking, cycling, going to the beach, swimming, horsebackriding, parachute jumping, etc etc..They also have fine restaurants. Especially one near the beach :)
Anyway we did some walking and cycling here. Horseback riding also, but i don’t think i can call it my favorite thing to do, since i always have problems finding the right rythem, when they go in running gear :( Offcourse Marcela was enjoying it at had to laugh a lot when the leader said that we would run a bit more…tssss..Anyway at the end i had a sore bud again ;)
For some impressions about the island and the fun we had, you can take a look at the pictures

Kajacking near Reeuwijk

Something else you can do in the Netherlands is kajacking or canoeing. Near a camping close to the "Reeuwijkse plassen" we rented 2 kajacks for just 7 euro’s an hour and on the water we went. I learned somethin that day too : when you bring a digital camera, make sure you bring some Me...near an easy bridge ;)My girlfriend Marcela working spare set of batteries, because just when we were paddling a bit, the batteries went dead. Another thing was that you shouldn’t keep the spare set of batteries in your pocket of your jeans. Especially not when you’re a long legged guy like me, cause it could happen that you tip over when trying to fetch them when you’re in a moving kajack ;) Well it didn’t happen to me, besides the dead spare set, so not to many pictures from this little trip. In this area you’ll encounter some bridges where you most like are able to go underneath easily, but you might end up at a bridge, where a tall guy like me can’t go any further. Realy remarkable that my girlfriend could still go on, but after her little mambo in her kajack, we decided to go back and arrived at the camping in a total of around three hours time. Was a nice day and surprisingly no rain, cause it looked pretty dark :)
